This new acne formulation from Obagi Clenziderm M.D. is for those with normal to dry skin. Previously Obagi released a Clenziderm MD formulation for normal to oily skin which produced excellent results for many that have used it. They later developed this newer formulate for those with drier skin due to the success of the original formulation.
This system for dry skin is also a three part solution. It includes 1.) Daily Care Cream Cleanser 2.) Therapeutic Lotion 3.) Therapeutic Mositurizer.
A difference between this Clenziderm formulation and the one for more oily skin is that it does not use salicylic acid and uses a lower amount of benzoyl peroxide. It also contains Glycerin, which boosts the skin's ability to maintain adequate moisture and hydration.
The face wash is a gentle, non-soap cleanser that removes dirt and excess oil, leaving skin clean and soft. The Therapeutic Lotion is a 5% solubilized BPO lotion that clears away acne and prevents breakouts without drying the skin. It does use a small dosage of benzoyl peroxide.
To compensate for and reduce any dryness that the benzoyl peroxide may cause in the Therapeutic Lotion, the Therapeutic Moisturizer is formulated to moisturize and hydrate the skin while calming and soothing it.

Like their normal to oily skin solution, this formulation of Obagi Clenziderm M.D. for dry skin also costs $177.
